Jack Sparrow repaint - 2 by DarrenCarnall Jack Sparrow repaint - 2 by DarrenCarnall
I was sent the Hot Toys 'Cannibal' Jack Sparrow head for a full repaint. The client didn't want the tribal face paint on anymore, so I sprayed the head with white primer and set about giving it a full repaint. Here it is finished.

Perfect mate, nothing short. I had a look at the finished piece you did with the face paint and head dress too; honestly when I first saw the thumbnail I thought it was a photo until I clicked on the full photo.

Thanks! Although the version with the facepaint was how the figure came to me.. and the client wanted the paint removing, so I sprayed the whole thing white and started again. Resulting int he head you see above.

Sorry about that, it's my fault for looking at the piece without paying enough attention to the writing.

Hey thanks Trev! Yeah I enjoyed this one, it was a great sculpt but once I started I could see where the paint could be improved with regards to things like skin tone, sunburn, beard details etc. I'm glad this turned out well.. thanks again! (you're always an inspiration)

a killer paintup! I always dug that sculpt and it looks even better without the cannibal paint. Terrific work, Darren!
