Sideshow Indy statue repaint 2 by DarrenCarnall Sideshow Indy statue repaint 2 by DarrenCarnall
This is the Sideshow Indiana Jones Premium Format statue. (24" tall I think?)

This pic is showing a standard factory piece on the left, and my repaint on the right.

It was sculpted by the *phenomenally* talented Trevor Grove. (trev-solo on here ..I don't know how to link in these comments)

Unfortunately the factory paint job on this piece came out too dark, and the customer wanted to have more detail and subtle shading etc added also, so it was sent to me for a total repaint.

I pulled the jacket & shirt down off the shoulders, pulled the sleeves up off the wrists and taped it all up covering and protecting the clothes in a plastic bag. Then I gave it a full repaint, including the hat. (even something simple like the hat has 8 different shades and colours on it to give the proper appearance, so you can imagine what goes into the face!)

I'm really happy with this piece, and I'm always glad to do anything to show up Trevor's amazing sculpting work. It deserves to be shown off. Thanks Trevor.

I bet Trevor is happy with it too! Your repaint is much more softer and natural; it does the sculpt justice.

ACTUALLY, MY LAST COMMENT WAS OUT OF ORDER TO TREVOR. SORRY.

it's ok, your comment was aimed at the dark paint job, not his sculpt (which is of course amazing). He'd know what you meant.

Looks TERRIFIC!

Trevor does amazing sculpts but Sideshow's paint job doesn't show off it's true beauty. Yours does. And that's major skills on your part too.

Thank you so much for the compliment! That means a lot.

As someone who's getting more into sculpting myself at the moment, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to sculpt something amazing, only for the paint job to be at a lower (and less accurate) standard. Must be frustrating as hell... but the sculpt in this case (and pretty much everything Trevor does) is *so* good that you can still tell, even through the paint work. It's always a delight to paint anything Trevor does. :)
